Refractory bricks provide people with safety guarantees in the field of safety, but at the same time, some refractory bricks may suffer from local damage due to external conditions. In this case, we need to maintain and repair these refractory bricks. Generally, we know that refractory bricks produced by industrial kilns mainly refer to the excavation and repair of magnesia chrome bricks and spinel bricks. Here are some things to pay attention to when repairing bricks: burning magnesia bricks
1. The replacement bricks must use bricks from the same manufacturer and batch as the old bricks;
2. Use leftover loose bricks that have undergone the same maintenance as the old bricks as much as possible (note: damp or damaged bricks are strictly prohibited from being used)
3. The contact surface between new and old bricks must be coated with clay;
4. Iron plates cannot be installed between the interface surfaces of new and old bricks;
5. The brick joints on both sides of the lock mouth brick cannot be made of iron plates. The iron plates of adjacent ring bricks should be staggered, and iron plates cannot be made on both sides of the same brick;
6. The iron plate must be completely inserted into the brick joints;
7. The sealing of the first few rings of bricks must be inserted into the brick mouth from the side, and the sealing of the last ring of bricks should be done by inserting bricks from the front;
8. Strictly follow the designed brick ratio for masonry, and do not arbitrarily change the masonry ratio;
9. The expansion joint cardboard for repairing bricks must not be torn off, and the bricks must be wet laid (the fullness of the mortar should reach 95% or above, and it is strictly prohibited for the large head of the brick to have no mortar and the small head to have mortar. If this situation occurs, it should be removed and rebuilt in a timely manner;
10. During excavation and repair, try to avoid (or reduce the use of) processed bricks as much as possible.
The principle of excavation and repair: excavate bricks from the weakest point, but not from the third ring or more at the same time. If it is a continuous multi ring excavation and repair, in order to prevent the overall loosening of the brick, it is necessary to first excavate and repair 2 rings before continuing to excavate and repair backwards. When digging bricks, pay attention to the tightness of the entire ring of bricks. If the bricks become loose as a whole, stop digging and repairing immediately. Use a brick locking iron plate to tighten the ring joints on both sides of the loose bricks, and confirm that they are not loose before continuing the digging and repairing operation.
